If you want to remove it from the page, you can simply click the white “x” at the top-right corner of the tool. Now that Google has added the Research tool to their Docs page, it will be there by default, for both old and new documents, unless you choose to remove it from view. Fortunately Google has added a new feature to their Docs pages called Research that enables you to search the Internet directly from the document page. And anytime you navigate away from a tab, there is always the off chance that you could inadvertently close the browser window, or open a new page in place of your Google Docs document tab. Regardless of which path you take, you are going to need to leave your Google Docs document to find the information that you need.
Depending upon your Internet habits, this might involve opening a new tab, opening another Web browser window, or using the search function on the Start menu of your Windows 7 computer. Sometimes when you are writing a document you will find yourself needing to look up some additional fact, or locate another piece of data.
